3 side jobs you can do by teaching a language
It’s just another way to have a side hustle (or a side job) to earn money with apps….by teaching a language.
Even if you’re not a certified English teacher, or a native English speaker, we’re listing out 3 online places, where you can earn by teaching a language. However, not all are make money with mobile apps as some are actually only available online.
1. Cambly
Cambly is where you can teach English and get paid for it. It’s available on Apple and Android mobile apps, which means, it gets our first place for earning money by teaching a language via a mobile phone. This is done via a live video chat to practice conversational skills or pronounciation.
As a tutor, Cambly claims you can make $10.20 per hour. They don’t state that they require you to be a native English speaker, and to get started, you just need to create an account with them.
2. SkimaTalk
SkimaTalk is also another English only site to teach or learn English. However, unlike Cambly, you have to use Skype for this, but after which you can use Skype for mobile.
To be a tutor, you have to be a native English speaker and apply with them to pass a test. Only then will you be accepted into their program as a tutor. It’s also different from Cambly in that you have to book your lessons, instead of being available on demand. They claim that their top teachers earn more than $1,000 online.
3. iTalki
This one is open to many languages, so even if English is not your native tongue, don’t worry, you can still make money teaching a language. iTalki claims that they have over 100 languages available for teaching. However, their main languages are:
- English
- Mandarin
- French
- Spanish
- Portugese
- German
- Japanese
- Arabic
- Korean
- Hindi
- Italian
You can easily apply to be a language tutor. If you have a professional qualification to teach a language, you will be categorized as a professional teacher, and if you don’t, as a community tutor.
